How It Works
"How do you know the student stays on the authorized display for the entire exam?"
Continuous verification, from the first question to the last.
OurProctor™ patent-pending hardware verification layer runs throughout the entire exam — not just at login. Here is how the four-step framework works.
The Verification Lifecycle
Most proctoring solutions verify identity once at the start of an exam. OurProctor™ is designed to continuously verify that trusted hardware conditions persist from the first question to the last. The four-step framework below describes how that verification lifecycle is intended to work.
Verify
Establish a trusted hardware baseline before the exam begins
Before the assessment session starts, OurProctor™ checks that the device meets trusted hardware requirements and that the environment is in a known-good state. This initial verification establishes a baseline against which all subsequent checks are compared.
Authorize
Permit the session to proceed under verified conditions
Once hardware conditions are confirmed, the assessment session is authorized to proceed. The verified baseline is recorded and the continuous monitoring phase begins. Authorization is tied to the specific hardware state confirmed during verification.
Monitor
Continuously verify hardware conditions throughout the exam
Throughout the exam, OurProctor's™ patent-pending technology continuously checks that hardware conditions remain consistent with the authorized baseline. This is the core differentiator: verification is not a one-time gate but an ongoing process that runs from the first question to the last.
Revoke
Respond to hardware condition changes according to institutional policy
If hardware conditions change or deviate from the verified baseline during the exam, the session can be flagged or revoked according to institutional policy. The response to a detected deviation is configurable, allowing institutions to define the appropriate action for their context.
Platform Integration
Designed to Complement, Not Replace
OurProctor™ is not a standalone proctoring solution. It is designed to work alongside the identity verification, behavioral monitoring, and AI-powered tools that institutions already use. The hardware verification layer adds a dimension of assurance that existing platforms do not provide.
Works with existing platforms
OurProctor™ is designed to integrate with the proctoring systems your institution already uses, adding hardware verification without requiring a platform replacement.
Hardware layer, not application layer
OurProctor's™ proprietary, patent-pending verification occurs at the hardware level — providing a layer of assurance that is independent of the application-level checks performed by existing proctoring tools.
Configurable institutional policies
Response policies for detected deviations are defined by the institution, ensuring that OurProctor™ fits within existing academic integrity frameworks and workflows.
